It takes
Small b is bits, capital B is bytes: 8 bits make 1 byte. KB, MB, GB use 1000; KiB, MiB, GiB use 1024. Real links lose some speed to overhead, so lower the share to allow for it.
It moves
This is the ideal total. Overhead and busy networks make real numbers lower.
